DISCLAIMER: This is an “Ellie’s Mama” post!
In an effort to cut down on the insane amount of consumerism and STUFF in our house, we really want to focus on experiences instead of simply getting things. Plus, in the midst of the Bible Belt we have extreme holiday times with a lot of confusion for kids…make believe characters, Bible stories, and so much emphasis on stuff. -So we’ve enforced “Logsdon Love days” as days we designate for a chance to show the kids how much we love them – by providing them with fun experiences and things that last longer than another toy in the toy chest. 🙂
This was done around Easter, but definitely exemplifies Ellie’s excitement about spreading the love and doing things with people instead of just getting stuff. Whenever we ask Ellie what she wants for a present, she simply states “I just want to be around people I love.” It’s all about the relationships!
